WHAT WE TRADE / COAL
Indonesian coal.
Connecting industry.
From Kalimantan to Sumatra, Indonesia’s coal resources support power generation and industrial heat across Asia. TPM connects producer relationships with the requirements of industrial buyers.

01 / THE INDONESIAN LANDSCAPE
Kalimantan & Sumatra
Major producing areas include East and South Kalimantan and South Sumatra. Coal occurs in sedimentary basins; seam characteristics, calorific value and transport access vary considerably between deposits. Resources describe the broader geological inventory; reserves are the economically recoverable portion under stated conditions. The 2021 reserve and resource figures below are historical snapshots, not current inventory.
02 / INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Where the resource becomes useful.
Power generation
Thermal coal provides fuel for electricity generation. Buyers assess calorific value, moisture, ash and sulphur against boiler design and operating requirements.
Cement & industrial heat
Coal can provide process heat for cement kilns and industrial facilities. Consistent combustion characteristics and ash chemistry matter to plant performance.
Matching the specification
Indonesian coal includes a broad range of ranks and qualities. Thermal coal should not be treated as interchangeable with metallurgical coal; end use depends on the tested specification.
03 / SOURCING CONSIDERATIONS
The right material starts with the right questions.
Discuss calorific value and its reporting basis (GAR, NAR or ADB), total moisture, ash, sulphur, sizing and shipment volume. Sampling, independent analysis and agreed inspection procedures help establish a common basis for trade.
Let’s discuss your coal requirements.
Share your application, quality parameters, destination and volume. Availability, specifications and regulatory requirements are confirmed for each enquiry.
